Angular Bezels
Class Description
Taught by Odette Channell
8-week course (meets once a week for 3 hours)
Are you looking to add more shapes to your stone setting repertoire? This introduction to more complex bezel settings aims to make intimidating shapes more approachable. Students will scratch the surface of the world of angular bezels by learning to fabricate step bezel settings for squares, pears, marquis, and trillions. We will also discuss ways in which these skills can translate to other angular stones shapes in future and how to modify each setting to make it your own.
This course is for those with jewelry fabrication knowledge and more advanced practitioners who want an in depth and varied understanding of these techniques. Prior stone setting skills required. The Essential Bezel (beginner) is a precursor to Hello Bezel (intermediate), which is then followed by Angular Bezel (advanced).
Class size 4 – 12 students. A tool kit is available through the BKMW Tool Shop.
BKMW is able to offer registrations for Angular Bezels at $500 due to the fundraising from the 2024 NYC Ethical Gem Fair hosted by the Ethical Gem Suppliers. The 2025 NYC Ethical Gem Fair will take place on October 9th-11th at Brooklyn Metal Works.
All students enrolled in this course have access to the studio during open studio hours, at a discounted hourly student rate or a 12 hour bench card. In addition, full-time students have access to free open studio hours on Fridays and Saturdays during their course.
