Anonymous Brooklyn is for everyone. No names, just jewelry. Artists are invited to don a mask and anonymously add one piece of work to the gallery wall over the course of NYC Jewelry Week, contributing to an ever-evolving installation and performance. A self-directed accumulation, visitors can view the installation as it grows or see the full display for one night only during the opening reception.
Here’s how it works:
From Monday, November 17 to Saturday, November 22, artists are invited to bring one piece of jewelry for display In the Gallery at Brooklyn Metal Works. All the work will be placed on one wall and each artist will have only small nails to hang their piece. (We will have a hammer of course.) Whoever hangs the first piece gets the first pick of placement and from there it grows. It might grow over, it might grow under. Artists have the option to offer their work for sale; the only person who will ever know the maker’s name of a given jewelry piece is the buyer!
This call for entries is ongoing throughout the installation period. We will accept work until installation closes on Nov. 22 at 5pm SHARP.
Drop off and installation:
November 17 – 21, 11am – 6pm
November 22, 11am – 5pm
Opening Reception: Saturday, November 22, 6 – 9pm
De-installation:
Sunday, November 23, 11am – 6pm
Monday, November 24, 11am – 6pm
To participate in Anonymous Brooklyn, fill out this form before dropping off work.
All you need to do is fill out our intake form and then come by the gallery to install your pieces during our open hours noted above. There is no review process to accept work; everyone is invited to submit one piece.
