NYC Jewelry Week Demonstration with Sylvie Alusitz

Friday, November 20, 11am-12pm at brooklyn metal works

Sylvie Alusitz of Halstead Jewelry Supplies will demonstrate one of the most popular pieces in the book — a stone set ring — start to finish. Watch the whole process: cutting and forming wire to the correct size, soldering, and setting a cabochon stone. It's a rare look at what goes into the pieces you wear every day.

Sylvie is the Community and Education Manager at Halstead Jewelry Supplies, holds a BFA and MFA in jewelry and metals, and has been teaching consistently since 2019, with work shown nationally and internationally. Halstead supports artists with quality supplies and accessible technical and business programming, hosted at Brooklyn Metal Works — a non-ferrous metal art studio offering workspace, classes, and exhibitions for makers at every level.

This demonstration will take place on the second floor of Brooklyn Metal Works, which is only accessible view one flight of stairs.
